Justas Fresh presents Jazztape II

Another quality controlled set from the Mondayjazz boffins featuring forward thinking music head, Justas Fresh. If it’s MJ, you know it’s going to be a winner, although I am now convinced that they will not post a mix that doesn’t contain a track by Ras G.

“For Mondayjazz mix No 157 we got our local homeboy Justas Fresh and his second Jazztape. First part was oriented towards jazz of monstrous caliber in the direct sense. This time stylistic issue is a bit more tricky. From the first quick glance at the tracklist it seems, that Jazztape II is designed to represent modern Beats music, but this is not quite true. Music you about to hear is better perceived through intellectual and emotional categories than physical. It gives way more listening material rather than bumping. Let’s just say, that it combines modern technology with jazzy aesthetics and near classical harmonies. It is the proof, that with right approach, boundaries between “real” jazz and up to date variations of it nearly disappear. And additional evidence to that is Dimlite, Dorian Cocept, Mike Slott and Hudson Mohawke taking the whole stage at North Sea Jazz festival (the biggest jazz festival in the world) last summer.” – Rokas
